Peoples from all countries are required to get a visa to enter China. This is a simple process and Minds Abroad will help you every step of the way.
Most of our Students and volunteers apply for a multiple entry tourist visa (a type L visa) for studying or volunteering for short periods of time like 2 - 3 months. You have to visit your nearest Chinese Consulate or the Chinese Embassy in person to get a visa. If you live very near a Chinese consulate (located in New York, NY; Chicago, IL; San Francisco, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Houston, TX.), this process requires two trips – one to drop off your passport and one to pick it up. This process can be time consuming and can take as long as two full days. In the application form please list "tourism" as your purpose of travel. This is the standard procedure for short term students and volunteers coming to China. This would cover you for the entire time you are here and would provide you with the maximum amount of flexibility during your period of stay. |
